Vintage Truck hits the road for summer events Monday 5th August 2013
The very first brand new vehicle ever purchased by Chamberlain Transport has taken to the road to participate in two community events this summer.
The ERF KV, 700YMB, purchased by Chamberlains in 1963, took part in the Kelsall Steam and Vintage Rally on June 22 and 23.
The event was celebrating 80 years of ERF and Chamberlain’s vehicle took pride of place amongst a number of vintage machines spanning the company’s history.
“The truck has been with the company since its purchase and we take great pride in keeping it running and letting people see an important part of our history that did us a great service over many years,” said
The truck also made the trip to Rutland to take part in a rally of vintage vehicles organised by fellow transport firm CS Ellis, which is also celebrating its 80th anniversary this year.
The event, which took place in Uppingham, also included a BBQ and live music and was open to the public with over 500 people attending.
“We were delighted to take the truck and join the celebrations of another well-established logistics firm. The event was extremely enjoyable and a great success,” said Simon.
