The Olympics Monday 16th July 2012
As the country gears up for the Olympics Chamberlain Transport is urging firms to be prepared for possible disruption to the normal delivery of their goods.
During the Olympic and Paralympic Games from July 27 to September 9, there will be many restrictions on transport movements and strict security measures in place across the wider exclusion zones of all the Olympic venues in and around London.
“It is important that businesses talk to their hauliers and to their customers to find out if supply routes are affected and what arrangements can be made to make sure goods arrive when they need to,” said Simon Chamberlain, director of Chamberlain Transport.
Similar restrictions will also be in place at other venues around the country where Olympic events are being held such as football or sailing.
“Firms outside of London may not be thinking about possible disruption to transport routes but it is advisable to check if any events are taking place near them or their customers now before it is too late to plan alternative arrangements,” said Simon.
